What Is an Incarnation Cross?
Incarnation Cross describes the central life theme a soul carries into the world.
It does not describe personality.
It does not describe behavior.
It describes the role consciousness plays through one's life.
There are three types of Incarnation Crosses in Human Design:
Right Angle Cross (RAX) — Personal Destiny
A Right Angle destiny is fulfilled primarily through the person’s own life experience.
These people influence the world by living their truth.
Their being itself carries the message.
Three of the four Bahá’í figures hold this type of destiny — indicating that their own presence was the transmission.
Juxtaposition Cross — Transitional Destiny
Juxtaposition crosses bridge eras.
They shift the direction of history by living between worlds.
(This cross is not represented in the four figures.)
Left Angle Cross (LAX) — Transpersonal Destiny
A Left Angle Cross indicates a destiny that is not personal.
These individuals serve the collective directly.
Their lives do not belong to them alone.
They experience destiny as obligation, responsibility, and weight.
Their contribution is structural rather than experiential.
Shoghi Effendi is the only Figure here with a Left Angle Cross.

The Right Angle Cross of Laws is about initiating new order through spiritual and moral truth.
This is a cross that breaks old legal frameworks, exposes corruption in authority, and seeds entirely new reality structures.

Challenges the legitimacy of inherited authority
Brings reform through disruption
Delivers “law” not as control but as revelation

Clarifies humanity’s spiritual purpose
Line 4 (in His Cross) adds:
a focus on the collective
guidance for the many, not the few
teaching meant for society, not seclusion

Awakens hearts without force
Line 2 (in His Cross) adds:
natural charisma
magnetism without effort

This is a cross that builds structures so truth can survive beyond individuals.

Carries destiny into future generations
Establishes spiritual continuity
Line 1 (in His Cross) adds:
foundation building
structural integrity
deep responsibility
guardianship through labor
Shoghi Effendi did not embody the Faith emotionally —
He stabilized it institutionally.
