Introducing Yoga Avec Moi's Pure Breath Program

The Integrative Yoga Therapy framework jointly looks at the 5 layers of the body: the physical, energetic, mental & emotional, witness and bliss bodies that contribute to the overall health of a person, like weaves in a spider web. 

According to ancient yogic texts, the root of all diseases is within the 3rd mental and emotional layer of the body, and the primary symptoms of the onset of disease or imbalance thereof, is irregular breathing.

Therefore, the integrative yoga therapeutic way of bringing about healing in the root-disease layer of the body is through breath regulation, which is considered the fastest way to correct the root cause of diseases and imbalances in an individual; whether the disease or imbalance manifests in the physical, energetic or mental and emotional layers of the body. 

Yoga Avec Moi created a unique Pure Breath Program, administered over a 12 week period to get to the core root of a variety of diseases to boost overall wellness such as building attention, focus, memory retention, digestive functioning, alertness, resilience, efficacy and high performance.

The first running of this program will be administered online, taught only in English (at this time, until further notice) and live throughout the period of 2020.11.07 – 2021.03.07. During this period, individuals will be able to seek assistance from Nahal Haghbin (our Head Facilitator) in a group setting online and ask questions. 

Below are some of the following benefits of the breath techniques taught in the program,  

·      promotes regulation of the automatic systems within the body (Calabrese et al., 2000)

·      increases the parasympathetic nervous system activity that is responsible for digestion, sleep and calming breaths (Sinha, Deepak, & Gusain, 2013)

·      promotes cognitive processes required for sustained attention (Telles, Singh, & Puthige, 2013)

·      facilitates strengthening of the respiratory system (Dinesh et al., 2015) 

·      beneficial effects for working memory and sensorimotor performance (V. K. Sharma et al., 2014)

·      release of prolactin and oxytocin - which can foster feelings of calmness and social bonding (Torner, Toschi, Clapp, & Neumann, 2002)

·      more efficient respiration, higher ventilator reserve – long and deeper breaths which are correlated to increasing a human beings life-span (Bernardi, Schneider, Pomidori, Paolucci, & Cogo, 2006)

·      blood pressure regulation - (Bernardi, Gabutti, Porta, & Spicuzza, 2001)

·      positively impacts alertness and executive functioning (Calabrese et al., 2000; Tsigos & Chrousos, 2002).

The Pure Breath Program is conducted once a week (thrice per month on the first three Saturday- mornings from 10:00am-11:00am Beijing timezone). Each lecture is an hour long duration (totaling 12 HRs), including lecture presentations, breath-practice techniques, surveys and written reflective practices.
